My name is Suzanne Webb and I launched Peace at Hand Massage Therapy in June 2013. After pursuing several other career paths, I've happily returned to my massage therapy roots. I've realized that there is no more satisfying work for me than massage therapy that allows me to bring peace, relaxation, and pain relief to my clients through my very own hands! The launch of my business has created more peace in my own life, and I am eager to share that peace with you via my passion, massage therapy.
My massage training began back in 2002 when I attended a 500 hour massage certification program at the Universal School of Massage in Savoy, IL. I expanded on that basic training in 2004 when I completed an additional 250 hours of training in hydrotherapy, pathology, and medical massage at Summit Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. This brought me to a total certification of 750 hours of training in massage therapy. Since then I've taken continuing education courses in the modalities of myofascial release, Thai massage, Jin Shin Do, Reiki, and reflexology, as well as classes in ethics, bloodborne pathogens, and medical errors.
Over the duration of my massage therapy career I've held various licenses and certifications. I was licensed by the State of Florida (MA41305) from 2004 through 2011, and by the State of Maine (MT3228) from 2006 through 2010. I was nationally certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (now defunct) from 2003 through 2011. More recently I have been a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals since 2013. I am currently licensed by the State of Alaska (#101538), and have held my current license since Alaska state licensing first went into effect in 2015.
Prior to running my own business, I gained experience as an employee at a range of massage establishments. At a chiropractor's office I honed my medical massage skills, and at a large spa I learned how to provide a luxurious, as well as relaxing, client experience. I've also volunteered at a non-profit organization that offered complimentary massage therapy services to individuals diagnosed with terminal illness.
I have a client-centered approach to massage therapy. I strive to listen carefully to what your goals for each visit are, then customize every session accordingly to accommodate your preferences and keep you comfortable. For example, I am happy to spend an entire session on only hands or feet if that's what you want. Or if you'd like to bring your own music to the session, please do!
Please contact me to discuss how I can help facilitate the professional therapeutic massage experience you are looking for. I look forward to working with you!
